Photographs on wood in itself is a thrilling idea. We have had enough of photography on paper and there are many among us whose photo albums are consigned to our dusty cupboards- neglected and forgotten. We scramble for them when we need these photographs for engaging a guest at home when we have nothing better to do. These albums, with the passage of time, gather dust, get torn out and finally lose their sheen and appeal when they get invaded by termites or just get blurred and smudged over a period of time. This is not the same with ever fresh, ever appealing and ever visible photographs on wood which are fast becoming a buzzword not only in the field of conservative photography but also making headway in trendy gifting.
At the time of taking a plunge into the vast field of gifting in woodcraft, there were two considerations uppermost in our initiative. One, the cost of the product should be affordable by the consumer in our market and secondly there doesn’t have to be any compromise in the make and quality of the product as compared with other similar products being sold elsewhere through retail outlets or online. Happily, we have succeeded in both these objectives. Our products are not only in demand but are getting high appreciation from our customers, both online and those visiting our retail outlet located in Naya Bazar shopping comlex, near Bus Stand at Katra Vaishnodevi(J&K). What is more is that through our innovative technological breakthroughs we have been able to bring down the minimum processing time per piece from the existing minimum of 8 hours to just one hour. However, the quality of the product remains intact with our esteemed customers getting thrilled and excited on seeing their photographs printed on quality wood with proper waterproofing.
Before we launched our products, we wanted to ensure that our customers get quality in whatever products they purchase. This includes all the aspects- the quality of wood we use, the quality of printing we do, the quality of fine finishing we do and finally elegant packaging. Last but not the least, through our ingenious interventions and with innovative technologies we have been able to cut down on the processing time of these photographs on wood from a lengthy stretch of 08 hrs to barely 02 hours. What is stunningly important to underline is that in the final countdown the results that we have been able to bring out with this incredibly shortened process are far more sharper than the ones we get in the 8-hour long process advocated and followed by most players in this field.
As we go along, our products are getting more and more trendy and diversified. At Katra Vaishnodevi, nearly 1.2 crore pilgrims pour in annually, practically from all parts of the country. There are NRI families that are coming on regular basis from year to year. We have a small contingent of Hindus from Pakistan also coming annually on year to year basis.
Our product being catchy and trendy, is the first item that the pilgrims pick up for personal purposes and for gifting to others. In fact, at times, we just throw up our hands and express our inability to make on-the-spot delivery to our esteemed customers. But as we a have a well devised system of sending these rare gift items through post, our customers do wait for their turn and make advance payments and book the items of their choosing.
As of now, our whole focus is on building an enduring relationship with our customers by extending the best of our services and handing them over the product which is not only an object of his adoration but a proud possession too.
As we go along, we will be introducing new products depending upon the feedback which we get from our admirers and detractors alike. The passage is long, the possibilities are immense, and thrill and excitement are the two concomitants that will accompany us all along the journey to this whole new world of wood as it unfolds in its own natural progression.
